7 POWERFULL TIPS ON A HEALTHY, YOUNGER AND FRESHER SKIN

1.

1. TAKE PLENTY OF WATER.
The importance of water to healthy skin cannot be overemphasised. The human body is made up of 70% fluid, Therefore for a uptimal functioning body which encompasses good looking skin, the water uptake is necessary.
·         Get ½ your body weight in ounces of water of glasses per day to be precise or at least 1liter.
A healthy regimen requires an intake first thing in the morning to enable bowel movement which helps eliminate harmful toxins from the body.
·         Do not wait until you are thirsty before drinking water, do not also kill your thirst with carbonated drinks, soda water etc take water instead if you are serious about having a naturally healthy and sweet looking skin.
2.    WATCH WHAT YOU EAT
You are what you eat is a clique as old as time but very few really understand its deep meaning.
·         Reduce your intake of certain processed food like bread, pasta, sugar (in all forms, except natural sugars).
·         Take fermented foods e.g Yogurt, cheese, natural palm wine(avoid adulterated ones with artificial sweeteners)
·         Eat lots of vegetables – Vegetables contain fibre which aids digestion and helps in bowel movement, thereby freeing you of toxins that may cause skin irritations. They also provide your body with needed multivitamins (Vit A, E) needed to make your skin glow.
3.    GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Sleep is one of the best known anti-stress therapy freely available to you.
Stress causes the sebaceous gland which secretes an oily substance that lubricates the hair & skin and gives protection against bacteria to malfunction causing skin irritations.
·         The more you sleep, the better your body is able to deal with stress.
·         An average adult requires at least 8hrs of sleep a day. So keep that in mind for a natural superstar look.
4.      QUIT SMOKING AND DRINK RESPONSIBLY:
Research shows that smoking alone ages skin. In a study published in the Archives of Dermatology in 2007, researchers at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbour, in the US proved that smokers don’t just die young, they “get old young”.
Smoking reduces the natural elasticity of the skin causing a gradual breakdown of collagen, a protein that strengthens the skin, thereby leading to wrinkles and the degrading of the skin fast with age.
Alcohol the intake, on the other hand, dehydrates your body leaving the skin dry, old and worn out.
If you must drink, take plenty of water and have a non-alcoholic drink like soda water or fruit juice in between drinks/sips to keep your body hydrated at all times.
5.    DON’T MESS WITH THE SUN
It is a stale news that man’s luminous companion nourishes the skin with vitamin D3 essential for a good looking skin among other benefits.
The opposite is also true; The sun can cause great damage to the skin.
Ultra –violet rays from the sun cause skin irritations and may lead to skin cancer.
·         The key is to avoid the sun during high-intensity periods 11am – 4pm. If you must go out during these times, wear protective clothing that covers most of your body. ( this is bad news for ladies who like leaving parts of their bodies bare). A long-sleeved shirt, long trousers, or pants and a hat with a wide brim should do
·         Use sunscreen and sun shades
6.    TRY NATURAL FACE WASH
·         Do not go to bed with your makeup, this damages your skin. Cleaning your face before going to bed ensures bacteria and dirt don’t linger for too long to cause damages to your skin. Skim milk powder(skim milk is milk with most or all of its fat content removed) has been proven to make a face much softer and gives you a smoother complexion.it can be used by all skin type as its very gentle.
7.      MOISTURIZE YOUR SKIN THE NATURAL WAY(use Honey and Olive Oil)
While cleansing removes dirt and bacteria, moisturising protects the skin from drying and provides a protective layer for the skin.
·         Olive the oil hydrates the skin while honey holds the moisture very well. a mixture of these two added to lemon juice to form a pasty lotion.
Rub on the skin and wait for 10-20 mins.you should have a freshly hydrated skin for the rest of the day.
